We have used our Splice! Hybrid rope for the bumper which has Good UV resistance and is relatively soft rope helping to absorb the impact and reduce scratches or marks caused when the rope and stopper swings against the boat.
This is an upgraded solution to traditional rope stoppers specially to solve three problems which we had observed with traditional stoppers.
First
It has an end cap which prevents the stopper from riding forward on the rope. Our stopper will always be at the end of the rope where they should be.
Second
It has a rope "bumper" spliced around the stopper. This really helps to
"soften the blow" when the stoppers hit the hull, cockpit,... or people!
Third
It has a flattish upper surface to help give you more grip and pulling power than round stoppers which are more likely to slip through your fingers.
