Furlex is available for dinghies and yachts up to 80’. You can chose between on deck or through deck installation as well as manual operation with a furling line or electric or hydraulic drive. You have the option of installation on an ordinary 19-strand wire, a Dyform® wire or a rod forestay. If you want to be able to adjust the forestay length, an integrated rigging screw can be provided. If you want carefree sailing, Seldén’s got you covered.
FURLEX S
The S-series is Seldén’s traditional jib furling and reefing system. Operated by pulling a furling line and fitted above deck, the S-series has been seen on boats worldwide for decades. The basic concept behind Furlex remains – a complete and reliable jib furler supported by professional sailmakers and riggers. Over the years the product range has expanded and Seldén are now offering Furlex S for dinghies, keelboats and yachts up to approximately 65’.

FURLEX ELECTRIC
Furlex Electric is designed around a highly efficient 42V electric motor. A DC/DC converter (PSU, Power Supply Unit) converts the boat’s 12V or 24V to 42V which allows for thin cables to the motor unit, easy installation and a compact unit design. Power is transmitted to a self-locking worm gear to rotate the luff extrusion at a max torque of 60Nm (204E), 90Nm (304E) and 135Nm (404E). These high torque levels mean that you can always rely on being able to furl your foresail – even when the wind and sea are doing their worst.

FURLERS FOR CODE ZERO / ASYMMETRIC SPINNAKER
CX - FOR CODE ZERO
The AT-cable is integrated in the luff of the sail and thimbles connect the luff to the drum and to the halyard swivel. Special Cable clamps are required to fit the thimbles to the Seldén AT-cable. A dedicated halyard for Code 0 is required and 2:1 purchase is recommended to obtain the required luff tension and to reduce the load on the halyard sheave and on the line stoppers. The drum and the furling line can be permanently mounted to the bow and along the stanchions.
GX - ASYMMETRIC SPINNAKER
Seldén GX drum and halyard swivel and an AT-cable is included in the kit. The drum and the halyard swivel are permantly fitted to the sail with the Seldén line lock. Connect the drum to the bow and the spinnaker halyard to the halyard swivel. Lead the furling line to the cockpit by using Seldén Double Fairleads on the stanchions, tighten the furling line and secure it in the Twin-Cam block. Thereafter hoist the furled sail
TIDES MARINE TRACK & SLIDE SYSTEM
The Tides Marine Track and Slide System is a high-performance, low-friction mainsail handling system built to carry the increased loads and demands of today’s full-batten mainsails. When installed, the mainsail will hoist easily and drop the instant the halyard is released. The system consists of a one-piece UHMW track up to 64 feet in length and an “owner-defined” selection of matching slides and batten receptacles designed for smooth, long-lasting operation. The system is competitively priced and is sold by the foot (Your Tides Track System comes with a MAXIMUM of one slide for every two feet of track. If more slides are required, they may be purchased for an additional cost). The system offers minimal stack height, less weight aloft, and low-friction performance rivaling systems which cost more than twice as much. The track can be installed without going aloft and, in most cases, no holes need to be drilled in the mast.
TRACK
The UHMW track is machined to fit more than 150 different mast luff groove shapes (internal flat / internal round) as well as most common external track shapes. The track is UV stable, unaffected by salt water and available in seamless lengths to 64 feet.
SLIDES
The 316 stainless slides are hand-polished to a smooth, low-friction finish. They are available in several sizes.
Batten Receptacles
The Tides batten receptacles are offered in two sizes which accept both flat and round battens. They are connected to the 316-stainless slides via a 10mm stud and rotate freely when raising or lowering the main. The Tides system will also work with any competitive batten receptacles using the same 10mm stud configuration.
