Robship FlowLift Telltales are designed Constructed with a flexible TPU stand-off that gently lifts the telltale above the sail surface.
This helps keep the telltale free from the sail while maintaining a soft, flexible connection.
The result is a durable mounting system that is gentle on sailcloth and less likely to create pressure points or abrasion.

Each FlowLift base is secured using proven insignia cloth, providing a lightweight, reliable attachment that integrates neatly with the sail.
Improved performance on membrane sails (Modern membrane sails often have molded fiber ridges or textured surfaces. The raised Telltale can prevent the
telltale from catching on these features.
The result is a simple, durable solution that complements both cruising and performance sails while respecting the sail's structure.
Reduced boundary-layer interference
Very close to the sail, the airflow is slowed by the boundary layer. The boundary layer close to the luff of a sail is between 0.2 and 1.5mm. Thicker in lighter winds.Indeed around 5 to 10% aft of the luff the free-stream airflow height off the sail is between 1 and 4mm off the sail.
Raises the telltale approximately 4.5 mm above the sail surface, Lightweight and low profile.
Lifting the telltale into slightly faster airflow may make it react sooner and more consistently, especially in light air.
Suitable for new sails or retrofitting to existing sails. All Robship Sails from 2026/08 are supplied with these.
